Why should Economic Census be done?
Every decision should be taken based on valid and accurate information. Economic Census was held to get information about whole portrait of national economy, as a basis for formulating policy and planning of national and regional development.

Data collection on all business sectors thoroughly (besides agriculture sector) will be able to produce a complete overview of level and structure of non-agricultural economy, and basic information and its characteristics. Moreover, it will also know about competitiveness of businesses in Indonesia, and provision of business information needs.

How was data collection method in Economic Census 2016?
1. Businesses/Enterprises Listing Method

Enumeration was conducted in all regions of Republic Indonesia, covering all economic activities.

2. Micro Business Characteristics Data Collection Method

Enumeration was conducted by sampling based on listing frame of SE2016

3. Data Collection on Large and Medium Business Characteristics Method

Enumeration was conducted a census for all medium and large businesses/enterprises

Coverage of SE2016

All non-agricultural businesses/enterprises:

At fixed/permanent location (mall, office, market, etc)
At non-fixed location (street, sudden market, etc)
Roving business
Households (stalls)

Enterpereneurs:

State (school, hospital)
Non-profit institutions (worship place, social organization)
