The UMB and UMK SE2016 data collection generally aims to find out the profile of business in Indonesia that can be used as material for planning macro economic activity and the resulting data will be used as the reference of the next survey.

Specifically UMB and UMK SE2016 activities include:
1. Knowing the profile and characteristics of the business in Indonesia.
2. Provides an overview of the level and structure of the economy.
3. Knowing business competitiveness in Indonesia.
4. Obtain the structure of expenditure and income from business activities/companies.
5. Getting a picture of capital / prospects and business constraints/company.
6. Obtain detailed data of business/company as a material of micro and macro analysis planning.
7. Obtain benchmarks and databases for various advanced surveys in the economic field until the next Economic Census.
