Abstract

Human development in South Kalimantan continues to progress as marked by the continued Human Development Index (HDI) of South Kalimantan. By 2017, South Kalimantan's HDI has reached 69.65. This figure increased by 0.60 points compared with the South Kalimantan IPM in 2016 which amounted to 69.05.
• Until 2017, the human development status in South Kalimantan is at a "moderate" level. South Kalimantan's HDI in 2017 grew by 0.87 percent compared to 2016.
• During the period 2016 to 2017, the components of IPM are also increasing. Newborns have an opportunity to live up to 68.02 years, an increase of 0.10 years compared to the previous year. 7-year-olds have an opportunity to attend school for 12.46 years, an increase of 0.17 years compared with 2016. Meanwhile, the population aged 25 years and over on average have been educated for 7.99 years, increased by 0 , 10 years compared to the previous year. The per capita expenditure (constant 2012 prices) of the community has reached Rp11.60 million in 2017, an increase of Rp293 thousand rupiah compared to the previous year.
